Hi Grape
Viners, here are some YouTube Videos to enjoy!
08 August 2007
I was grape-info-hunting the Internet yesterday, when I stumbled upon
this really great
video and thought you might like it. Have look. Information
is the key to successful grape growing
Picking grapes is hard work! Here
are two video's for you that shows
manual harvesting and mechanical harvesting.
(I bet you will choose the second method)
One thing to remember; table grapes cannot be mechanically removed,
because
it will damage the berries and will not be suitable for eating or
exporting.
Enjoy!
Head pruning of a mature
grape vine. See how a head was formed from years and years of
pruning. Remember to always prune back to the head when you
use cane pruning or long bearers.
For every cane, you MUST leave a renewal spur - VERY IMPORTANT!
Have a look at this excellent video.
This video will confirm what I teach in the Complete Grape Growers
Guide.
Thinning out of bunches is very important.

You should be - have a look at this video!

Pruning back an old vine.
Notice how dramatically the vine was pruned, but with not that much of
a loss in
crop size. This is the way to rejuvenate (renew) an old grape vine.
In part 2 Stephan mentions sap flow of the vine. One very important
thing to remember
that the sap flow through old, pruned wood is much slower and therefore
you need to remove as much
old wood as possible when pruning, without loosing the structure or
cordons on a grape vine.

Wine Grape Pruning
Unfortunately the quality isn't very good, but maybe you can learn
something from it
Would YOU like to grow your grape vine the
correct way?
Do you know that pruning is the most important part of growing grapes?
Do you know that 90% of "home grape growers" prune their grape vines
the wrong way?
Do you know how to prune, train and grow your grape vine to become
the ultimate grape producing plant.
