I have a question regarding the layering of your vine. I am in Andalucia Spain and like you get high temperatures in summer.My golden retreiver dog likes to lie in the sun near to the young vines and when he was bored bit off the top of a 1 year old vine below the graft. The vine is a grafted rootstock to a tempranillo grape .If I layer the vine next to it into the ground I am assuming it will not have the protection of the rootstock. The rootstock of the existing vine is still there . How easy is it to graft another to it ? Peter Hi Danie
