		<description>Danie-----
My vines (one Thompson and one purple) are aprox 4 years old, now, and they are spreading vines all over the place. The purple vine has one bunch of grapes and none on the other vine.
I tried to keep up with the water shoots, but, they just kept coming. I believe the weather has a lot to do with the vines performance. RIGHT ???

		<description>Hello Danie:
I live in the Okanagan on the Okanagan Lake near Vernon in the middle of the wine growing industry.
Like you said don't let your vines grow wild as you will never manage them and mine did my vines have takien over my yard up over my fruit trees over my backyard canopy over the neighbors fence on the 3 sides.
It is now Oct and would like to cut them back the main trunks are about 3cm 1 1/4" in diameter.
Can I do this without dammage to the vines as next year I want to control them and get some grapes.

<description>Can you please help me? I live in Sussex (South of England). I have grown a Black Hamburg vine for the last ten years in my greenhouse and the vine absolutely thrives. However some three months before the fruit is ready for picking the vine gets totally covered in mildew and mould despite spraying, and keeping the vine well trimmed, the ventilators open and I have even concreted the greenhouse floor.
This year I cut the vine down, dug up the root from outside and grew tomatoes instead.
I do miss the vine and would like to try again next year. My question to you is what type of vine should I grow, and are there any vines totally resistant to mildew and mould?
Your help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks.
