Hi again grape growing friends.<\/p>\n

Just a quick update on the “leaf pulling a grape vine<\/a>” blog post from yesterday.\u00a0 This video I found on YouTube will confirm what I’ve said in the previous article about leaf pulling.<\/p>\n

See how the guy (the farm\u00a0worker, not the actor) is removing the basilar leaves to expose the grapes to more sunlight.\u00a0 As said earlier, this is hard work and takes up allot of time.<\/p>\n

I’ve had a question about sunburn when you do leaf pulling.\u00a0\u00a0Some varieties are more susceptible to sunburn than others, so\u00a0if you have one of those, you need to do leaf pulling very carefully.\u00a0 Do not open up the roof of the canopy so the grapes will hang in direct sunlight, but remove leaves touching the grapes.<\/p>\n

Take your time, and do leaf pulling properly.\u00a0 As said earlier, you will reap the rewards.\u00a0 I promise.<\/p>\n
